Power Control Ltd has won an order to supply an additional 33 Borri Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems to the Ghanaian government business partner, Ghana Community Network Services Ltd (GCNet).
The order comprises over 30 Borri B8000FXS 15kVA solutions and a further two Borri Ingenio Plus 60kVA UPS units, all with 15 minutes autonomy. Due to run as standalone backup power support, the UPS systems will provide essential emergency power protection for IT and sensitive data housed at various Ghanaian government facilities including tax and customs offices.
This latest order will complete the third phase of GCNet’s continual power protection strategy. The earlier stages saw Power Control supply and commission a variety of UPS systems including six Borri B9000FXS 200kVA solutions configured in three sets of N +1 and 19 Borri B8000FXS 15kVA UPS units.
Throughout the first two project phases, Power Control also delivered essential technical training in the UK and in Ghana to GCNet’s engineers to enable them to commission, service and provide ongoing maintenance of the UPS systems they had installed.
With a relationship spanning over six years, Power Control is now the named preferred supplier for all of GCNet’s power protection requirements and is already in line to replace the batteries of the UPS systems originally installed in 2011.
GCNet’s project manager Chris Holden commented: “Borri UPS systems have an exceptional reputation for delivering ultimate power resilience and reliability and we could not be happier with their performance.
“Power Control’s service and support have been invaluable to us. The training they provided us with has given us the in house skills to commission, service and maintain the UPS systems ourselves, which has allowed us to reduce costs and means that we do not need to rely on a third party.
“In addition, the sales service delivered by Power Control has been seamless, from initial quoting and product specification through to the organisation of logistics for delivery Tema Port, in southeast Ghana.
“We are always looking at our power protection path and whenever we have a requirement for added power resilience, we will be returning to Power Control without question.”
