Starting off on the right foot
To welcome employees to the Power Control family all new starters are given a formal and in-depth induction to the business and colleagues. This includes an overview of the company’s performance standards, office systems, health and safety procedures and general culture of the workplace. Full product and service training is also given.

We actively encourage our employees to undertake any training relevant to their role, which could be directly related to technology and product advancements or general skills training.
The company also delivers apprenticeship schemes in association with Sheffield and Chesterfield colleges. We welcome between 18-25 year olds and promote local community work placements and training. All our apprenticeship programmes are carried out on site where apprentices work through a bespoke engineers training programme.
Demonstrating our commitment to professional development further, we are a fully accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD) member. Categorised under the engineering sector, we offer a range of structured training courses and workshops centred around all technical aspects of the power protection landscape.

All our employees undergo extensive training, which consists of First Aid at Work, manual handling, asbestos awareness, working at height, IOSH and all other relevant training required relevant for the role and responsibilities.
Our engineers are cleared to the highest security levels including local authority, DBS and Military checks and are fully equipped with state of the art test equipment, tools and onboard spares.
Highlighting our exceptional health and safety standards we operate under CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment), SafeContractor and Constructionline.
