A vacant position created as the result of continued annual growth within Power Control Ltd.

RELATIONSHIPS

Responsible to: Operations Manager

MAIN TASKS

  • Carrying out servicing and maintenance of uninterruptible power supply systems at customer premises

  • Undertaking the commissioning of complete UPS systems

  • Providing breakdown support, testing and fault finding on UPS systems and power quality equipment

  • The above will involve working on electrical systems, UPS battery systems and static UPS.

  • Partaking in the on-call rota

  • Be able to demonstrate competent use and understanding of test equipment (meter/clamp/scope)

  • Clear understanding of safe working practices on site with relevance to high voltage AC and DC equipment

  • Experienced in on-site problem solving and working practises

  • Flexible with your working hours, with some evenings and some weekend work required, sometimes away from home

  • Flexible approach to changing job priorities

  • Commitment to completing jobs within prescribed timescales to achieve a first time fix

  • Customer focused with good interpersonal skills both written and oral

  • Computer literate

  • To complete all documentation relating to site visits in a timely and satisfactory manner, including field service reports, expenses and overtime reports

  • Understand and comply with all requirements defined in the Employee Health & Safety Handbook

  • Understand and comply with all requirements defined in the Employee Handbook

  • Understand and comply with all requirements defined in the Engineer Performance Standards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • HNC/HND Electronics or higher

  • 18th Edition Electrical would be beneficial

  • Minimum 5yrs UPS field service experience

  • Ability to operate remotely with minimal supervision

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

  • You take pride in your work and approach all tasks with energy and enthusiasm

  • Good judgement and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Good interpersonal skills
