Power Control provides emergency power for emergency services
As with all sectors, any UPS system installed to support the emergency services must offer the highest levels of protection available.
The South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SCAS) provides traditional 999 emergency services as well as non-emergency patient transport services.
The solution and results
After a detailed review of the SCAS headquarters in Bicester, Oxfordshire, Power Control recommended a parallel configuration by Borri to remove any single points of failure and to safeguard against any potential power interruptions, which, if not addressed, could have significant and disastrous implications in terms of lost data and subsequent knock-on effects to patient treatment.
Power Control provided SCAS with a complete back-up power solution and managed the entire project from initial product specification through to electrical works and final installation. This professional single point of contact provided SCAS with a hassle free and seamless project experience.
Due to the requirements, Power Control installed two high efficiency B9000 160kVA UPS solutions, along with a 300kVA diesel generator to ensure optimum power protection for the service’s communications systems.
