Project Overview
The project was divided into two parts to effectively meet the client's requirements.
Part 1: Implementing three pairs of N+1 paralleled Legrand KeorMod 250kVA UPS Systems
The initial phase involved installing 6 Legrand KeorMod 250kVA UPS systems in an N+1 configuration. Due to the nature of the premises, which is housed in an old building, the client had only a single power supply available. This presented a unique challenge as the desired UPS size exceeded the capacity of a single power supply.
To address this, Power Control Ltd, the chosen provider for this project, skilfully split the single power supply across two UPS units. This setup ensured the required redundancy while overcoming the limitation of a single power supply.
Each UPS unit was equipped with its own set of batteries, providing a 10-minute rated autonomy at a 200kW load (100kW per UPS). Furthermore, the battery stand and DC Isolation were configured to accommodate an additional battery string per unit, allowing for future expansion as the client's needs evolve.
The most challenging aspect of this phase was the intricate process of splitting the single power supply to effectively power both UPS units, ensuring seamless operation and redundancy
Part 2: Integration of Legrand 150kVA N+1 UPS System
In the second phase of the project, the focus shifted to integrating a Legrand 150kVA UPS system in an N+1 configuration to further enhance the power infrastructure. This UPS system was installed with a new Legrand side cabinet, the first one in the country, a pioneering solution in the UK market, designed to facilitate top cable entry for streamlined installation and maintenance.
Additionally, to optimise performance and ensure compatibility with the existing infrastructure, the following components were integrated:
