Generators

Standby generators operate hand in hand with a UPS system to provide extended backup power for longer power outages. A diesel generator is critical to any high availability power system including data centres, hospitals, manufacturing, utilities and other industries and applications.

With a generator and UPS combination installed and faced with a mains power failure, the critical load will instantaneously switch over to the UPS which will "bridge the gap" whilst the generator starts up and reaches synchronisation. Once available, the generator will take over the load and the UPS will return to its normal operation mode. The UPS will continue to manage any fluctuations in voltage/frequency that occur whilst on generator power to ensure sensitive loads are protected.

We can supply diesel generators for installation inside, on top of, or outside of a building, and can supply acoustic enclosures for silent generator solutions where noise reduction is important, or containerised solutions for outdoor applications.

When designing the optimum generator solution, factors such as physical sizing and footprint should be considered along with where the generator is to be placed and how it will integrate with existing electrical infrastructure.
