One of Power Control’s Project Managers, David Glaves, has been admitted membership status from one of the largest science, engineering and technology institutions in the world, the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET). Achieving the designatory letters of MIET means Dave has fulfilled the standard of knowledge, competence, understanding and commitment to professionalism and is engaged in an activity relevant to the interests of the IET.

Respected industry-wide for its renowned standards, the IET requires a rigorous application programme whereby evidence of knowledge and understanding and qualifications are required. The support of a current member was also required to confirm the level that Dave was working at. As a previous member of the Institution of Electrical Engineers and the Institute of Incorporated Engineers, David had already demonstrated his engagement within engineering and technology and wished to regain access to key resources and tools to turn theory into practice and aid in career development.

David Commented: “Having previously been registered with the Institute of Electrical Engineers and the Institution of Electrical Engineers, I chose to reaffirm my membership to demonstrate my commitment to continued professional development. It’s a great way to keep up with the latest industry trends, advances and practices with the added benefits of having access to technical resources including literature, webinars and seminars.”

The Company is thrilled with David’s achievement and would like to personally congratulate him. Tom Nicholson, Director at Power Control commented “As a company which sits within continuously evolving industry, Power Control likes to ensure their staff are at the forefront of the trends. If any of our team wish to pursue a career development opportunity we support them in any way we can. Dave has been with the company for many years and we are very proud of what he has achieved.”
